Site of the Former Yunnan Army Military School
The site of the former Yunnan Army Military School is located on West Cuihu Road, adjacent to Yunnan Provincial Agricultural Exhibition Hall and the Provincial Library.
The site is a national relic protection unit. As one of the earliest military schools of China, it is originally a school established in Qing Dynasty for the training of modern officers. Established in 1909 and closed in 1928, 19 groups of students were enrolled, divided into the four departments of infantry, cavalry, artillery, and engineer.
The major building of the School is a large-scale traditional building of earth, wood and stone. In the shape of square, the four buildings in the east, west, north and south are about 120 meters long and 10 meters wide. Symmetrically built as an integrated mass, the buildings have arch doors for entrance.
