Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Chengdu

Our guide and driver will meet you at Chengdu airport, and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Chengdu-Kangding

Drive to Kangding, Kangding is well known throughout China for a popular Kangding Love Song. While travelers are more allured by the stunning scenery in the vicinity consisting of snowy mountains, sweeping grasslands, glaciers and monasteries, as well as its unique Khampa charm hailing from mixed cultures.The place was regarded by some westerners as where Tibet really begins. We will visit Shangli Old Town, to see the Luding bridge, and will pass through the 4176-kilometers-long tunnel (The 2nd Longest Tunnel In China) on the way.

Day 3: Mugecuo Lake-Xindu Bridge-Yajiang

Pay a visit to MuGeCuo Lake, it is locates at the north of Kangding, about an hour of drive. In Tibetan MuGeCuo means lake of savage. Before arrive at MuGeCuo, there's another small lake called Sever-Colour Lake. We will stop at the lake for taking pictures.
Mugecuo Lake itself is not very beautiful. But if you rent a horse and get to the back of the mountian, you can see very wonderful scenes. Visit Xindu Bridge, which is called East Russia and "photographing paradise", is a small town and is the dividing point of north and south Sichuan-Tibet Route. Drive to Yajiang (74km).

Day 4: Yajiang-Litang-Riwa

Drive from Yajiang to Litang (143km), Cross over Jianziwan (4659m) & Kazila(4718m) Mountains on the way, and then we will arrive Litang, at 4,187 meters above sea level, the town of Litang is known as the highest county seat in the world. Litang is famous for its boundless Maoya Grassland. It is known as Letong in Tibetan.
After lunch, pay a visit to one of the most famous "Yellow Sect" Tibetan monasteries-Chang Qing Ke Er monastery. Afternoon drive goes through the Haizi Mountain, the largest Glaciers site, located in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Upon arrival in Daocheng, check in hotel. In evening, go to the famous Hot Spring Village to have a relax. (Fees on your own)

Day 5: Riwa-Yading-Xian nai ri

Hiking or horse riding in Yading. From the reserve entrance we will travel to a beautiful wooded pathway leading to a valley set at the foot of the spectacular Mt. Chanadorje. We'll pass piles of mani stones by the side of the pathway and at the base of the Reserve's most stunning vistas. We'll also visit Tshonggo Gonpa (Chonggu Si in Chinese)-a small Tibetan temple, which Joseph Rock nicknamed 'Bandit Monastery.' (Joseph Rock, a botanist and explorer, conducted extensive explorations of northwest China and Tibet for Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology and National Geographic in 1924.) We will continue our hike to the foot of Mt. Chenresig, where we'll ascend a small but steep hill to view a beautiful mountaintop emerald green lake. Local lore has it that this magical lake can reveal your future if you spend a few moments in quiet contemplation by its side. We'll return to Yading, and overnight in local Tibetan style guesthouse, 2-4 people a room not air-conditioned and independent water closet equipped.

Day 6: Yading-Luorong Yak Ranch-Yading

In the morning, take a horseback ride to Luorong Yak Ranch. Here you can see the beautiful Five Color Lake and the Milk Lake.

Day 7: Yading-Riwa

Sightseeing in the Bowa Mountain and its deep valley, pay a visit to Gongga Langjilin Monastery.

Day 8: village-Daocheng-Xiangchang

After breakfast, drive approximately 10 hours to Xiangcheng, Derong, all gravel and concrete road for approximately 10 hours drive, etc.

Day 9: Xiangcheng-Derong

Visit to the Sangpi Monastery and Taiyang gu (Sun valley).

Day 10: Derong-Deqin

Upon arrive in Deqin, Cross over the first bend of the Jinsha River, and sightseeing in the Baima Snow Mountain. Visit the Dongzhulin Monastery.

Day 11: Deqin-Mingyong Glacier

Pay a visit to feilai temple. Drive 34 km to Mingyong glacier. Then the hiking & trekking tour OR Horse riding tour starting (The tour will spend 5 hours). Then, back to Mingyong village have lunch there. Back Deqin.

Day 12: Deqin-Zhongdian

Back Shangri-La, visit Napa Lake on the way.

* Overnight at Zhongdian4-star hotel

Day 13: Zhongdian-Kunming

Take a morning flight from Zhongdian to Kunming. Visit The Yunnan museum of minority nationalities. And then drive to Anning Hot Spring Resort refreshing yourself from the long Journey. Enjoy the delicious Yunnan Flavor (Cross-bridge Rice Noodle & Steam pot Chicken Soup) as the Dinner.

Day 14: Kunming-Home

Visit Bird and Flower Market and transfer to the airport. See you off.
